Ian King vs. Steven Vannarath - Midtown Throwdown III

Inside Dynamic MMA--week of Feb 13-17

Congratulations to DFCC team member Ian King on his victory at Midtown Throwdown III. Ian won his fight in 35 seconds with a very tight Juji-gatame (straight arm lock). It should also be noted that Ian was fighting up a weight class in this fight. Good job Ian.

Cameron Ericson was also going to be on the fight card, but his opponent dropped out at the last minute and a replacement was not found. After weeks of training Cameron was disappointed, but will be even more prepared for his next fight opportunity.

Today is February 14th. Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

This week we are coasting a bit.

On Monday and Thursday, MMA and BJJ classes will be combined and working on ankle lock entries and recoveries.

Judo for Monday and Thursday will be submissions performed from Kesa-gatame position. We will also go over escapes from this pin and recounters for the escapes.

Tuesday and Friday will be spend troubleshooting for Judo, BJJ, and MMA classes. It is important to take a break from drills and work through some weak areas while having some Q and A with the instructors on these tactics and strategies.

Wednesday Muay Thai will be spent on developing accuracy on kicks and recovering your fight stance when caught off balance.
