...and
--We will also go over Muay Thai techniques in MMA class.
--Judo this week will concentrate on Ashi-waza (leg techniques) and finish up our last week of self defense with countering knife attacks.
--Muay Thai class this Wednesday will be elbow strike combinations.
--In this week's BJJ classes we will be working on more strangles as well as sweeps from the guard and half guard.
That sounds like a full week of awesome training and useful information.

Coming up this week...
In case you've seen me limping around a little bit this week, I had a partial tear happen to my meniscus tendon in Judo randori this week. Sometimes accidents happen. I always like to say that about 90% of the injuries that occur inside the dojo happen when people are horse-playing and not doing what they are supposed to be doing. The other 10% happen just because what we do is very physical and sometimes unexplainable things happen.
Anyway, Karri helped adjust my knee and it is already feeling better. Next week I will be able to get down on the mat and teach some cool stuff.
We will be going over how to escape/counter the d'arce choke and the anaconda choke. These are very popular strangles in the No-gi grappling circuits right now. It would be a good idea to not only be able to apply the chokes, but counter them when they are attempted on you. Escapes are an area overlooked by many. When you are confident with your escapes, you are able to execute higher risk techniques.
Have a great weekend. See you at the dojo next week.

improvements...
We're in the process of making some awesome changes to our website and social networking sites to make it easier to keep up with everything going on with the Dynamic MMA dojo. So far, I am extremely happy with the changes being made. Olga, Jen, and I have been exploring different ideas on how to improve our current website. The old site was too complicated and disorganized. The new site is simplified and very easy to navigate. We hope this makes it a pleasure to visit the site and encourage viewers to frequently return. Anyway, keep checking back for the latest improvements.

Self defense
The self defense workshop is going really well. This week we are working on defense against extension weapons (clubs). Next week we will work on defense versus edged weapons. This is also self defense month for our adult Judo class. The blend of workshop students and Judo students has worked out extremely well.
