In case you've seen me limping around a little bit this week, I had a partial tear happen to my meniscus tendon in Judo randori this week. Sometimes accidents happen. I always like to say that about 90% of the injuries that occur inside the dojo happen when people are horse-playing and not doing what they are supposed to be doing. The other 10% happen just because what we do is very physical and sometimes unexplainable things happen.
Anyway, Karri helped adjust my knee and it is already feeling better. Next week I will be able to get down on the mat and teach some cool stuff.
We will be going over how to escape/counter the d'arce choke and the anaconda choke. These are very popular strangles in the No-gi grappling circuits right now. It would be a good idea to not only be able to apply the chokes, but counter them when they are attempted on you. Escapes are an area overlooked by many. When you are confident with your escapes, you are able to execute higher risk techniques.
Have a great weekend. See you at the dojo next week.
