This week at Dynamic MMA

Kodokan Judo black belt and Brazilian Jiu-jitsu blue belt, Ryan Cunningham, will be representing DFCC at the Pan American Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Championships at the end of this week. Let's all do what we can to help him prepare in these last few days before this major competition.

The martial arts community suffered a loss this weekend with the passing of Judo Jon Krohn. Jon was originally from Douglas County and was a black belt in Judo and Brazilian Jiu-jitsu as well as a professional MMA fighter. He was highly respected as both athlete and coach here in the Northwest.  He will be greatly missed.

Kodokan Judo

Monday-Thursday

We will be working variations of Ogoshi and combinations using Ogoshi. Basics work.

Tuesday-Friday

Ude-garami from various positions. You can get the figure 4 grip from anywhere. Once you have the grip, you have tremendous leverage. (structure and leverage will defeat strength)

Mixed Martial Arts

Monday-Thursday

Bring your shin pads. We will be working high level kicking techniques. We will also work some strength and conditioning drills.

Tuesday-Friday

Getting and maintaining back control. In MMA, your best positional option is the rear mount.

Jiu-jitsu

Monday-Thursday

Transitioning and maintaining top side control positions.

Tuesday-Friday

BJJ class will be working back control along with the MMA class. However, I do request that the BJJ members practice with the Gi on as there will be additional details.

Muay Thai

Wednesday

Footwork, knees, and elbows.

The Muay Thai training room is nearing completion. I will announce when the room is ready for use. We are doing some major renovations that ended up taking more time than originally expected. However, we think that everyone will be very happy with the work when the room is complete.
