This week at Dynamic MMA: April 23-27

Announcements:

--Congratulations to my wife, Olga Keith, for becoming a U.S. Citizen on April 23rd. It has been a long drawn out process, but now it is done.

--Congratulations to our combat athletes for representing our dojo so well at the 2nd Subleague Qualifier tournament last weekend. Ryan, Seth, Matt, Mathea, and Maddy all put it on the line and performed well at the event. You can watch some videos of Ryan in action in the blue belt division at http://www.youtube.com/ryanjudoka

--We are looking for volunteers to help out with two events coming up this weekend. Kids' Day at Wildlife Safari and Healthy Kids' Day at the YMCA. These events do not usually happen on the same weekend, but this year they do. We have had a Youth Board Breaking booth at both events for a few years and would like to continue that tradition. If anyone  would like to help out, let us know asap.

--We will also be looking for volunteers to help out with the Boys and Girls Club summer camp and Camp Millennium. These are fun and very rewarding events. Again, let us know asap if you are interested in helping out.

This week in the dojo:

Kodokan Judo

Monday-Thurday

Combination throws--If a throw does not occur in the initial clash, then combinations are needed to score the win.

Tuesday-Friday

Pin escapes--we pick up where we left off last week and continue with some pin escapes and reversals.

Pankration MMA

Monday-Thursday

We revisit the hip bump sweep and several follow up attacks. This sweep is one of the most useful in MMA.

Tuesday-Friday

Rhythm drills--Bring your MMA gloves and shin pads and be prepared for a tough workout.
